Job Description - Payroll Director (Australia & HK, Hedge Fund)

Lead and manage end‑to‑end APAC (Hong Kong & Australia mainly) payroll operations, ensuring 100% accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all statutory requirements.
Oversee payroll components including salary, bonuses, deferred compensation, RSUs, tax reporting, MPF/ORSO, and employee benefits.
Ensure full compliance with Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance, labour laws, MPF regulations, and all statutory filings (e.g., IR56 forms).
Manage payroll vendors and optimize systems, controls, and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Handle sensitive payroll matters including expat tax, compensation adjustments, audit support, and regulatory reporting.
Partner with HR, Finance, and regional teams on compensation cycles, year-end processes, and payroll governance.
Lead payroll process improvement initiatives and maintain strong risk controls, documentation, and data confidentiality.
