The Vice President of Prime Client Services is responsible for leading key client relationships across the firm's prime services business. This role ensures delivery of exceptional client service to hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional clients by managing day‑to‑day operational needs, driving resolution of complex issues, and partnering with internal stakeholders across trading, operations, risk, and technology. The VP will also help identify growth opportunities, streamline service models, and enhance the overall client experience.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
Serve as primary point of contact for a portfolio of top-tier prime brokerage clients.
Build strong, proactive relationships focused on service excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic partnership.
Manage client onboarding, account transitions, new product rollouts, and operational set-ups.
Conduct regular service reviews and business update meetings with clients.
Operational & Service Delivery Leadership
Oversee day-to-day trade lifecycle support, including settlements, margin, financing, corporate actions, collateral, and asset movements.
Partner closely with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of client issues and escalations.
Monitor operational risks and implement controls to mitigate service gaps.
Drive continuous improvement across processes, workflows, and client support models.
Business Growth & Strategic Initiatives
Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across financing, execution, clearing, and technology services.
Support the onboarding of new hedge fund clients and the expansion of existing relationships.
Contribute to product development initiatives by providing client feedback and market insights.
Collaborate with sales, trading, and product teams on strategic client strategies.
Risk Management & Compliance
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
Escalate operational risk events and contribute to root-cause analysis and remediation planning.
Maintain strong controls around trade booking, asset movements, and financing activities.
Leadership & Team Contribution
Mentor junior client service staff and contribute to training initiatives.
Promote a culture of client-centricity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Represent the client services function on internal working groups and cross-functional initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
7-10+ years of experience in prime brokerage, hedge fund operations, or institutional client service within financial markets.
Strong understanding of equity and/or fixed-income prime services, including financing, margin, clearing, and settlement.
Proven track record of managing complex client relationships at a senior level.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
