Private Equity Partner

Our client, a highly driven international law firm with a rapidly growing Hong Kong platform and aggressive ambitions to become a tier 1 name in every one of their new core practice areas, is seeking a senior-level Private Equity Partner to build and lead its private equity practice in the region. The firm has a strong track record of attracting senior lateral partners from leading global platforms and offers a genuinely collegiate, entrepreneurial environment for partners looking to grow and shape a market-leading offering.

The successful candidate will have the gravitas and depth of connections to attract and service globally recognised sponsor clients across the US and Europe, spanning buyouts, growth investments, and portfolio company M&A, whether from a dedicated private equity practice or a combined private equity / M&A background. The role carries genuine leadership responsibility, including business development, team building and mentoring, with a clear pathway to a senior or regional practice leadership position as the firm continues to expand its private equity offering across Asia.

Candidates should bring a portable book of business commensurate with a global elite law firm and sufficient to compensate for their pedigree, together with an established track record advising top-tier global private equity sponsors, gained at a leading top-tier US, Magic Circle, or major global law firm. Admission to practice in Hong Kong (or a strong willingness to requalify in Hong Kong) is required, along with an entrepreneurial, collegiate mindset and a demonstrated ability to originate and grow client relationships with international sponsor clients in the region.
