Production Engineer

We’re working with a leading prop trading firm that is expanding its Production Engineering function as part of a follow-the-sun support model for its trading desks.

This is a hands-on, operational role sitting very close to live trading systems and the people who use them.

You’ll be supporting highly automated trading applications in a fast-paced environment, working directly with traders, technologists, and infrastructure teams to keep systems running reliably and respond quickly when changes are needed.

What you’ll be doing

• Troubleshoot and support live trading systems in a Linux on-prem environment
• Develop and maintain Python and Bash scripts for monitoring and operational tooling
• Provide L1/L2 production support (L3 experience is a plus)
• Act as a point of contact between the trading desk and platform, network, and security teams
• Monitor and support distributed production systems used by an automated trading desk
• Respond to real-time issues and work closely with traders when rapid changes are required

Technical requirements

• Strong Linux experience with OS-level troubleshooting
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
• Solid networking fundamentals
• Experience supporting production systems in high-availability environments
• On-prem infrastructure experience preferred

Background

• Experience in high-frequency trading environments is highly regarded
• Banking or large-scale financial systems backgrounds are also considered
• Candidates from large tech environments are welcome, provided you’re comfortable outside cloud-native setups
