Production Support Engineer - Global Hedge Fund - Hong Kong

Our client, a global hedge fund, is actively seeking a hands on production support engineer to join their technology team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of our production systems, providing exceptional support to our trading and investment teams, and collaborating with IT to resolve issues efficiently.

The role:

1. Monitor production systems and applications to ensure high availability and performance.
2. Respond to and resolve production incidents, minimizing downtime and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).
3. Collaborate with traders, analysts, and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
4. Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement preventive measures.
5. Maintain and update documentation for processes, procedures, and system configurations.
6. Assist in the deployment of new applications and system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
7. Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.
8. Provide training and support to end-users on system functionalities and best practices.

What you offer:

2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a production support or similar role within the finance industry.
3. Strong understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
4. Proficient in SQL and experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Familiarity with incident management tools and processes.
8. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) would be highly preferred
9. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
10. Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
