The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds.
There are over 18,000 students from 75 different nationalities in ESF kindergartens, primary, secondary and all-through schools. About 70% of our students have parents who are permanent residents of Hong Kong.

Job Description

The Project Development Officer plans, implements and supports initiatives, events, and projects to foster greater engagement and the fulfilment of school strategic goals. This post requires extensive collaboration with different working groups, teams, staff, and the whole school community, including alumni.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and collaborate with relevant parties to support major school events (e.g., Speech Day, Winter Festival, Graduation) and strategic projects (e.g., timetable reform, Learning Enhancement Centre development)
  • Develop and execute communication strategies to engage all stakeholders, including alumni, and facilitate meaningful involvement
  • Maintain continuous quality engagement with the alumni community by facilitating school visits, liaising with the Alumni Association, and serving as the point of contact for alumni matters
  • Collaborate with long-term partners and friends of the school (e.g., KGV Alliance scheme) to bring outside expertise and support that enhances students' learning experiences
  • Strengthen the philanthropic culture within the school
  • Work closely with the Communications team and the Engagement Manager
  • Contribute content related to the school community on social media platforms and publications
  • Carry out other ad hoc duties as the line manager or principal requires


Requirements

  • University degree in communications, public relations, event management, project management, and marketing, or equivalent qualifications
  • Demonstrate a strong command of English and Chinese, with a keen interest in education and philanthropy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, positive team spirit, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborative mindset, adept at working cross-functionally with diverse teams
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Professional, presentable, and confident in engaging with the community while maintaining high integrity
  • Proficient in information technology and familiar with social media platforms
  • Able to multitask, prioritise, and display robust time management skills
  • Exhibit independence, self-motivation, and a strong focus on efficiency and reliability
  • Skills in using design tools, such as Canva and Adobe Illustrator, is an advantage
  • Occasionally, the role may require attending meetings or participating in activities outside regular working hours
