Project Manager / Senior Project Manager Markets Operations Transformation

The Company

Our client is a leading international financial institution with a significant presence across Asia. The organisation is currently undertaking several large-scale transformation and restructuring initiatives across its Markets and Securities Services business, creating opportunities for experienced professionals to join complex, high-impact programmes.

The Team

You will join a transformation team working closely with Markets Operations, Business, Technology, Risk & Controls and other key stakeholders across multiple locations. The environment is highly collaborative but requires individuals who can operate confidently within a matrix structure, coordinate multiple workstreams and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager with strong Markets Operations experience to support major transformation programmes, including organisational restructuring, business integration and other strategic initiatives.

You will take ownership of projects from initiation through implementation and closure, managing project plans, milestones, dependencies, RAID, governance, stakeholder engagement and delivery across multiple workstreams. The role requires someone who combines strong project management skills with a solid understanding of front-to-back Markets Operations and financial markets processes.

You will work across Business, Operations, Technology, Risk/Controls and other functions to ensure requirements, design, implementation, testing and rollout are properly coordinated, while maintaining strong control and governance standards.

The Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager delivering complex transformation projects in a regulated environment, ideally within financial services.
• Strong Markets Operations experience is essential, with a good understanding of front-to-back processes.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets / treasury products and processes, ideally including: FX // Fixed Income // Rates // Derivatives, including vanilla swaps
• Experience working across Markets Operations / Securities Services Operations, with exposure to functions such as Operations, Product, Technology, Product Control and Risk/Controls.
• Experience delivering business, regulatory and/or technology transformation with a clear understanding of operating model impacts.
• Strong project management capabilities across planning, milestones, dependencies, critical path, RAID, governance, reporting and change control.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge the Business, influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders within a complex, matrix and multi-site environment.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, including the ability to structure information and data to facilitate decision-making.
• Strong understanding of risk, controls, compliance, audit, data/privacy and operational readiness within a regulated financial institution.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese.
• Experience working with formal governance and documentation standards.
• Relevant project management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification is advantageous.
