Proudction Support Engineer L2/L3, Global Hedge Fund

This role sits within a global trading firm’s technology division, providing advanced production and application support for critical trading and risk systems across multiple asset classes. The engineer ensures the stability and performance of front and middle office platforms used for pre-trade analysis, execution, post-trade processing, and PnL reporting.

The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting trading or financial applications, and the ability to operate under pressure in fast-moving market environments. This is a hands-on engineering role in a global production environment, combining problem-solving, automation, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure system reliability and delivery quality.

• Provide technical support for front and middle office trading systems, resolving platform and trade-related issues independently or in collaboration with global support and engineering teams.
• Communicate effectively with trading and execution teams on system incidents, resolutions, and infrastructure updates.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and vendor teams to ensure smooth deployment, configuration, and testing of trading platforms.
• Support and monitor internal trading environments to maintain platform stability and performance.
• Collaborate globally with other engineers to ensure consistent support coverage and knowledge sharing.
• Enhance and automate environment management tools to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
• Develop and maintain scripts and utilities to streamline repetitive processes and improve production reliability.
• Create and maintain internal documentation and knowledge bases for troubleshooting and operational procedures.
• Participate in software and version release activities with development and infrastructure teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux-based environments with strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, and SQL.
• Solid understanding of trading or financial systems, with exposure to FIX protocols preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Experience with software version control and familiarity with SDLC processes.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving ability with attention to detail and ownership of outcomes.
• Experience with AWS environments or columnar databases (such as kdb+) is an advantage.
