QA Engineer - International FinTech Platform

Company Overview

• Our client is the first industry-supported, open messaging network for private banks and wealth management firms to connect with issuers of structured products. The company serves some of the largest financial institutions globally.
• You will gain hands-on experience with a well-established financial technology firm and collaborate with a dynamic team across various disciplines.
• The QA Engineer will work closely with both the product and development teams to execute and enhance end-to-end testing of the platform, focusing on both functional and performance throughput.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Testing

• Rigorously test and validate the distributed software provided by our client.
• Assist the support and operations team with second-level analysis and resolution of production issues.
• Collaborate closely with the product team to design and document test campaigns (including scenarios, test cases, and success criteria).
• Help the operations team deploy new software releases in accordance with our clients release processes.
• Develop and enhance new QA manual and automated tests (including UI, data, and services).

Key Skills

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in executing and building QA/testing scenarios.
• Familiarity with web/UI testing and messaging/event-driven architectures, such as REST and HTTP.
• Strong understanding of testing best practices (both manual and automated).
• Ability to effectively identify which tests should be automated.
• Previous hands-on experience using and improving testing frameworks like Selenium and Cucumber.
• Exposure to trading or transactional systems is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Capacity to meet deadlines and occasionally work under pressure.
• Scripting/data mining skills with Linux Shell and Python are a plus.

Location and Travel

• This is a full-time position based in the Hong Kong offices of the company.
