Quality Assurance Technician (Shoes)

As a key member of our Footwear team, you will partner closely with the Senior Quality Manager to champion product excellence as a Quality Assurance Technician. In this role, the core objective of the position is to investigate the technical characteristics of shoes to ensure they comply fully with our rigorous quality and safety standards.

You will ensure that every item not only meets but exceeds the highest international standards. Your daily work will directly safeguard the products sold across thousands of Lidl and Kaufland stores worldwide—all driven from our dynamic base in our office at Airside, Kai Tak.

Beyond daily operations, you will independently manage technical and QA initiatives across Asia, acting as the bridge between suppliers and top-tier laboratories in Europe and Asia. We are looking for an innovator: someone who can spot opportunities to continuously improve our QA systems and procedures while maintaining the smart, efficient, low-cost model that drives our success.

What you'll do

• Check new lasts, blue prints and wood molds of new outsoles, check patterns & grading.


• Create measurement charts


• Check the fitting and workmanship of prototype/ pre- confirmation samples during the new development stage.


• Collaborate with the PD team and Merchandising team to develop reasonable quality products at low cost.


• Provide technical support to the PD Team and Merchandising team during the new development stage.


• Provide support towards suppliers to accurately make prototype samples to the requirements of the Tech Pack.


• Review Tech Packs and conduct risk assessment


• Provide recommendation and manufacturing excellence suggestions to improve workmanship and quality.


• Monitor SS (size set samples) and PP samples in order to ensure on time delivery of quality samples.


• Coordinate and follow up changes with merchandising team’s requests, corrections, revisions in order to make final correction for PP samples.


• Initiate occasionally Pre- Production Handover Meetings with Production Support Team for specific articles


• Update all company systems and lists related to above tasks on a daily basis


• Travel occasionally to China or other Asian countries to monitor the technical issues in factories whenever necessary.


• Travel is required for this role

What you'll need

• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in footwear industry


• Bachelor’s degree required, from Polytechnic university or IVE graduate in footwear related studies


• Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin required


• Proficiency in MS Office/Google Workspace is required


• Capable to check new lasts, blue prints, wood molds of new outsoles


• Capable to check patterns, grading and create measurement charts


• Capable to check fitting and workmanship of various footwear articles


• Understands shoe-making construction and manufacturing process in production


• Understands all aspects of product design/aesthetic/functionality and safety for footwear.


• Able to provide technical support to Factories and Product Development Team
