Regulatory Compliance - Team Head (International bank)

Key responsibilities:

• Lead institutional and individual licensing activities, ensuring full regulatory compliance and efficient approval processes across the organisation
• Provide strategic regulatory advice by monitoring legislative developments, managing compliance obligations, and partnering with stakeholders to implement requirements effectively
• Strengthen regulatory governance through management reporting, risk assessments, executive presentations, and the timely escalation and resolution of compliance risks
• Drive regional and global compliance initiatives by collaborating with head office, regional teams, and group entities to ensure consistent regulatory standards
• Build a strong culture of compliance by delivering policy guidance, training, and mentorship while leading and developing junior team members

Candidate profile:

• Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years' compliance experience within the banking or financial services sector
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations, with proven experience managing licensing matters, regulatory obligations, and direct engagement with regulators
• Experience operating in complex, fast-paced financial environments, collaborating with regional and global stakeholders on regulatory and compliance initiatives
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prepare reports, present recommendations, and manage regulatory risks under pressure
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and training experience, with a strong commitment to ethical conduct, accountability, and fostering a culture of compliance
