Risk Officer/ Manager (Fast growing Hedge fund)

Our client is a growing Hong Kong-based asset management and alternative investment platform with strong market recognition and institutional support. The firm specializes in quantitative and discretionary investment strategies across global markets and continues to expand its regional investment capabilities.

Your new role
As an Investment Risk Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing portfolio risk management activities across multiple investment strategies and supporting the broader investment risk framework.
Key responsibilities include:

• Monitor market, liquidity, and portfolio risks across investment strategies
• Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and portfolio risk reporting
• Partner closely with portfolio managers and investment teams on risk exposures and trading activities
• Develop and enhance investment risk methodologies, metrics, and monitoring tools
• Review portfolio concentration, leverage, and investment guideline compliance
• Prepare risk reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
• Support regulatory and internal governance requirements relating to investment risk matters

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree holder in Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within investment risk, market risk, or portfolio risk management
• Experience gained within hedge funds, asset management firms, investment banks, or buy-side platforms preferred
• Strong understanding of financial products, portfolio analytics, and investment strategies
• Proficiency in risk systems, Excel, VBA, Python, or data analytics tools is advantageous
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English required; Chinese language capability is beneficial
