Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, financial analysis, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Month-End and Year-End Close: Lead the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.


• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.


• Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank accounts, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets) and resolve discrepancies promptly.


• Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


• Audit Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring a smooth audit process.


• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, automate manual tasks, and enhance the overall efficiency of the finance function.


• Tax and Compliance: Assist with tax filings, sales tax reporting, and other compliance-related activities as needed.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with AP, AR, FP&A, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and support business decisions.


• Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.


• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation preferred.


• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).


• Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting requirements.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.


• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
