Job Description - Senior Associate/ Associate, Special Assets Management, Risk Management Group
Business Function
Risk Management Group (RMG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decisions. In addition, RMG is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on key risk issues of the Bank. To manage risk effectively and deliver strong financial performance, we invest significantly in our people and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control the performance of non-performing loans (NPLs) booked in Special Assets Management (SAM) with a view to maximise recovery and to reduce the number of NPL accounts for the Bank
Manage NPL including debt restructuring, initiation of legal proceedings, collateral disposal and processing claims under Government Scheme (HKMC/TID)
Formulate account strategies and action plans for the designated NPL accounts and review and monitor recovery actions
Report and update management of the progress of NPL accounts
Arrange disposal of repossessed properties and vehicles
Prepare credit proposal including recovery actions, debt restructuring and charge off
Ensure recovery procedures are complied with internal policiesand external laws and regulations
Assist with and provide administration and operation support to the following tasks for contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department:
MIS reporting;
System development/enhancement and ad hoc project(s);
Other related tasks and projects as assigned by the team lead or department head
Requirements
Tertiary education or above
Minimum 3 years of relevant banking experience with practical knowledge in credit recoveries and restructuring, property disposal and MIS reporting. The experience may be acquired either through conducting credit recoveries or serving a supporting role in the above areas (knowledge or experience of HKMA returns and/or internal MIS reporting will be an advantage)
Good credit analytical and negotiation skills
Proficiency in computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). AI knowledge and use experience will be a plus)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
