Senior Associate, Data/Business Analyst, Corporate Banking

Responsibilities

• Identify risks and design analytical frameworks for compliance and fraud detection.
• Engage with key stakeholders to understand and challenge strategic objectives, proactively identifying business pain points and uncovering underlying needs beyond surface-level requests.
• Drive the analytical narrative with conviction, proposing and securing buy-in for robust analytical solutions that align with strategic goals for risk mitigation, process optimization, and business growth.
• Serve as a direct interface throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding requirements to planning execution and managing timelines, ensuring alignment and expectation management with senior stakeholders.
• Build sophisticated data visualizations and interactive dashboards to effectively communicate complex analytical results and insights to a senior audience.
• Design, implement, and optimize complex data pipelines, ensuring smooth data flow, high data quality, and clear data lineage.
• Explore and integrate diverse existing and new data sources, conducting advanced exploratory data analysis to identify relevant data and create valuable features for analytics.
• Collaborate with data specialists across Data Chapter & Technology teams to provide technical guidance and project context, ensuring effective support for foundational data pipelines, ad-hoc analysis, and dashboard maintenance related to your projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Related data, analytics & AI accreditation obtained via MOOC (e.g. Coursera, edX, Udacity, Data Camp) or other education institutions is a strong plus.
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, with a sizable portion dedicated to strategic stakeholder engagement and leading analytical projects in a corporate banking or financial services environment
• Experience in banking data (e.g. transactional data, customer lifecycle data, risk & control data) is a strong plus
• Solid experience in building, optimizing, and maintaining complex data pipelines and transforming large volumes of data for strategic analytics.
• Proficiency in Python / PySpark for data manipulation, analysis, and model development
• Experience in cloud computing (e.g. Cloudera, Google Cloud Platform GCP, AWS) and big data computation framework (e.g. Spark, Kedro).
• Ability to build sophisticated data visualization from scratch. Experience in Qlik Sense/ QlikView is a must.
• Conversant with working on large, complex of datasets. Ability to quickly code to explore vast datasets to support ad hoc analysis.
• Prior experience in mentoring junior analysts or team members is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical concepts and insights clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including senior management.
• Strong strategic acumen and problem-solving abilities, capable of challenging assumptions constructively and proactively identifying high-impact analytical opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and influence outcomes with both business and technology teams.
• Passionate in new technologies (e.g. AI ML/ GenAI, Agentic AI), eager to learn and can-do attitude.
• Proficient in English and Chinese.
