Senior Business Analyst - Agency Compensation (Insurance)

We are hiring on behalf of a Hong Kong insurance client for an experienced Business Analyst - Agency Compensation to sit with the business and act as the bridge to IT. You will own requirements end to end on a programme to modernise how intermediary pay is calculated, governed and reported — covering commission, bonus and incentive rules, process redesign and the related system changes.
You will work daily with distribution, finance and operations users, then turn their needs into clear functional and technical specifications for design, build and test teams. You will report into the client’s project leadership and work closely with the IT project manager.

What you will do

• Partner with distribution, finance and other business users to map current processes and define future commission, bonus and incentive models
• Run workshops, interviews and walkthroughs to capture calculation logic, eligibility rules, exceptions and reporting needs
• Convert business needs into structured functional specs and system requirements, including user requirement specifications, business specification documents, process and data flows, calculation logic, user stories and acceptance criteria
• Support solution design discussions and check that proposed designs still match the business intent
• Support SIT and UAT: scope, scenarios, test cases, user coordination, issue triage, impact analysis and requirement clarification through implementation
• Track progress, risks and issues; support change control; keep requirements traceable through the project lifecycle
• Build a working knowledge of agency/intermediary pay structures and day-to-day operations so the solution meets business, regulatory and operational needs

What we are looking for

• 3+ years as a Business Analyst, ideally in insurance or financial services
• Solid experience with agent/intermediary compensation, commission, bonus, incentive or similar pay systems (strongly preferred)
• Strong BA craft: elicitation, documentation standards and structured analysis
• Experience on system replacement or major enhancement programmes
• Confidence engaging senior business stakeholders and turning complex rules into clear specs
• Strong analysis, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management; able to work independently across functions
• Hands-on experience with process modelling, data analysis, functional design, SIT/UAT and defect management
• Structured, detail-oriented and quality-focused
• Fluent written and spoken Cantonese, Mandarin and English
• Prior work with Hong Kong insurers, regulatory-driven system changes, and vendors or system integrators is advantageous
