Job Description - Senior Business Analyst - Insurance (Compensation)
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end business analysis activities for the new compensation system, including requirements gathering, documentation, and solution design.
Work closely with business stakeholders (Agency, Broker, Finance, and Operations) to understand current compensation processes and translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall project milestones and stakeholder expectations.
Collaborate with the IT development team to clarify requirements, review technical solutions, and ensure business needs are accurately reflected in the system design.
Develop and maintain high-quality documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, Process Flow Diagrams, and User Stories.
Lead and manage the UAT process, including designing test plans, creating test cases, executing tests, and tracking defects to ensure the system meets business requirements.
Apply strong Excel skills (including Macros and VLOOKUP) to support data analysis, reconciliation, and validation during requirements and testing phases.
Provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders and escalate issues or risks in a timely manner.
Support change management and training activities to ensure smooth adoption of the new compensation system.
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in the insurance industry (Life Insurance preferred).
Strong hands-on experience in agency or broker compensation / commission systems is essential.
Proven experience in business requirements gathering, documentation, and working with IT teams on system implementation projects.
Strong UAT experience, including designing test plans, writing test cases, and managing the full testing lifecycle.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (especially Macros and VLOOKUP).
Strong project coordination and timeline management skills.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Life Policy Administration Systems is a strong advantage.
Prior experience in compensation system implementation or transformation projects.
Knowledge of insurance regulatory requirements related to agency compensation in Hong Kong.
