Senior C++ Developer

A leading global trading and technology-driven organization is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Hong Kong. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, quantitative research, and electronic trading, providing an opportunity to build highly scalable and performance-critical systems that power trading activity across global financial markets.

You will work on a modern in-house technology platform responsible for processing vast amounts of real-time market data and supporting sophisticated trading strategies with extremely low latency requirements. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance high-performance applications using modern C++
• Lead development initiatives for core trading and market data platforms used globally
• Build frameworks and tools that support quantitative research, pricing, and trading strategy development
• Develop and maintain exchange connectivity solutions including market data feeds and order gateways
• Partner closely with traders, quants, and engineers to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions
• Optimize software performance, reliability, throughput, and latency across critical systems
• Investigate production issues, performance bottlenecks, and system behavior to ensure platform stability
• Contribute to software testing, deployment processes, monitoring, and operational excellence

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience using C++
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
• Experience with multithreaded, concurrent, and asynchronous programming
• Proven ability to develop scalable and reliable systems in Linux environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience

• Electronic trading, market making, hedge fund, exchange, or financial technology environments
• Low-latency systems development and performance optimization
• Exchange connectivity, FIX protocol, WebSocket technologies, or market data platforms
• Exposure to Rust, Python, or TypeScript
• Knowledge of network optimization, observability, and distributed systems architecture
