Senior Legal Counsel - Global Markets (Investment Banking)

Known for its dynamic global markets platform and innovative financial solutions, the firm offers a collaborative environment where legal professionals can work closely with trading and structuring teams on complex transactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Provide legal support for derivatives and global markets transactions, including drafting and negotiating documentation for OTC derivatives, structured products, and related agreements.
• Advise on regulatory and compliance matters impacting trading activities across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with front-office teams to assess legal risks and deliver practical solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and ensure efficient handling of cross-border legal issues.
• Contribute to internal policy development and assist in implementing best practices for legal risk management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified lawyer under Hong Kong Bar or UK Bar (other common law jurisdictions may be considered).
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within an investment bank or financial institution; in-house experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of derivatives and global markets products, with proven ability to handle complex transactional work.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English; additional Asian language skills are a plus.
