Overview of job
Mindshare is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for an Senior Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing clients of international brands, providing recommendation in integrated media strategy, overseeing the holistic communication ecosystem including offline, digital and O2O solutions. You will also assist Director and Team Leader in coaching junior staff, providing guidance to the extended local performance and ad operations team working to develop the operational capabilities of the agency.

In this role, your goals will be:
In three months:

  • Completed inductions with internal teams and key media owners;
  • Understand the client’s business and brand situation of key clients, way of working and communication flow with agency partners;
  • Understand the company visions & offerings
  • Completed all the tools training (if not familiar with the systems already) and understand how we develop an integrated screen plan;
  • Responded to your first brief and presented these recommendations to the clients with quality insights and rationale;
  • Provided constructive feedback about the day-to-day job duty of junior members of the team.

In six months:

  • Identified actionable consumer insights that can inform the media strategies for clients
  • Demonstrated ability to judge ideas in terms of factual accuracy and relevance to brief.
  • Progressed work independently with other internal departments, as well as external parties which gained client’s trust.
  • Debated constructively with clients and sold in the agency’s recommendation.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovative mindset in client’s briefs and problem solving.
  • Handled client request independently, delivered sufficient guidance to the team and allocated task efficiently

In 12 months:

  • Led the strategic response to brief, incorporating inputs from other team members and agencies to create an integrated recommendation.
  • Developed a point of view on what’s right for the brand in terms of budgets, weights, new opportunities, regionality and test and learns.
  • Supported account leads and had a point of view on other brands within the portfolio as and when required
  • Identified opportunities in gain additional revenue from existing clients.
  • Actively participated in new business pitches.
  • Nurtured and developed junior staff for career growth

What your day job looks like at Mindshare:

  • Manage all aspects integrated media planning especially digital to meet client objectives
  • Be the first point of contact for clients and business/traditional teams for assigned accounts
  • Develop media strategies and recommendations based on the media brief, having sufficient knowledge to support and rationalize recommendations;

A) Must be able to set media objectives
B) Establish media strategies which meet those objectives
C) Establish or challenge the target audience
D) Understand the strengths / weaknesses of all media and how they can work with each other
E) Create media plan
 

  • Work closely with local market planning teams to develop media strategies and produce media recommendations
  • Translate media plans into effective buys and supervise implementation;

    A) Manage buying and negotiating to the highest standards
    B) Work with executive to complete booking and implementation, completing task personally where necessary
     
  • Oversee and quality control of media monitoring, proof of performance, campaign optimization and post-analysis to ensure client objectives are meet, including:

    A) Support executive to produce both interim and post-buy reports on a regular agreed schedule.
    B) Analyse data, develop optimizations and deliver / present reports to clients on a regular basis
    C) Work with executive to implement optimisations
     
  • Work to ensure integration of online and offline media, where applicable, through working in partnership with traditional media teams
  • Anticipate, review and present point-of-views on online media trends, issues, developments and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain good relationship with key media vendors and internal teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with clients and have a good understanding of our clients’ business
  • Help to develop local business through existing clients and potential new opportunities, including the sell in of new ideas and services to the clients
  • Work with junior team member(s) to develop his/her digital capabilities

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience required: minimum 5 years in media planning, buying and implementation and client servicing, where regional experience is preferred but not mandatory if willing to learn.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must.
