Senior Merchandiser, Fabric

This position provides fabric sourcing and development support to brand’s fabric R&D team and MGF Merchandising team during fabric development period. The position holder shall work independently with various stakeholders such as overseas customers, mills, MGF merchandiser team and regional counterparts to support fabric sourcing and developments.

  Responsible for fabric counter sourcing and development  based on brand’s fabric R&D team and merchandising team’s inquiry

  
  


• 
  

  Partner with customers’ fabric R&D team to follow up critical process i.e. Fabric Delivery Schedule/Initial Testing Report/Sample Yardage and some tracking charts

  
  


• 
  

  Search for new fabric trends and take initiatives to work with mills to develop new fabric suitable for the customer

  
  


• 
  

  Research and develop new fabric concepts and technologies and propose ideas according to current market needs/trend.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep abreast of industry changes, market intelligence and fabric trends

  
  


• 
  

  Assess existing mills with regard to R&D capability & performance.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist in developing new mills and support mill onboarding training

  
  


• 
  

  Partner with production team to negotiate the fabric price and lead time with mills to support the business.
