Senior Network Engineer - Global Investment Bank - Hong Kong

Our client, a reputable global investment bank, is actively seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining their network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support their banking operations and enhance the overall network architecture.

The role:

• Design and implement scalable network solutions to meet the bank's operational requirements. Ensure high availability and performance of network systems.
• Monitor network performance and security, troubleshooting issues as they arise. Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure network integrity.
• Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems, to protect sensitive data.
• Work closely with IT teams, application developers, and external vendors to support network-related projects and initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical support to users, addressing network-related queries and issues in a timely manner.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering. Propose and implement improvements to enhance network efficiency and security.

What you offer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and technologies (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls).
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) are highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
