Senior Software Developer - Top Tier Hedge Fund (Python)

A Top Tier Hedge Fund Hong Kong office is hiring a Senior Developer / Developer to join our technology team supporting Middle and Back Office operations in a global trading environment across 15+ international exchanges.

This is a hands-on Python development role focused on building and maintaining trade reconciliation, risk reporting, and post-trade operational systems. You will work closely with operations, risk, and finance teams to deliver stable, scalable, and automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain systems for Middle- and Back-Office operations, risk management, and finance workflows
2. Maintain and enhance applications to support business growth and operational efficiency.
3. Support daily reconciliation, settlement workflows and risk reporting.
4. Conduct UAT testing, ensure system stability, and resolve production issues efficiently.
5. Continuously improve system performance, maintainability, and data integrity.
6. Identify and implement AI-driven and data-centric innovations to increase automation and scalability.

Requirements

1. 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in a hedge fund, investment bank, or fintech environment.
2. Strong Python proficiency with experience in Django, Celery, Flask, Pandas, and NumPy.
3. Experience in frontend development with ReactJS, VueJS
4. Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
5. Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and software architecture.
6. Database expertise in PostgreSQL: data modelling, performance optimization, and monitoring.
7. Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and modern software architecture practices.
8. Exposure to AI technologies, cloud platforms (Azure), and DevOps tools (Jenkins, CI/CD) is advantageous.
9. Understanding of financial products and OTC derivatives (cash equity, swap, futures, options, bond, FX) a plus.
10. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a can-do attitude and an openness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
