Senior Technical Manager - Lead Cloud Platform Manager

Join a transformative greenfield initiative to build a next-generation AWS cloud-native platform. This platform will enable product teams to deliver faster, more securely, and at scale. As the technical leader, you will drive the adoption of GitOps and Everything-as-Code principles across infrastructure, security, and operations-creating a fully automated, self-service, and governed environment for multiple engineering squads.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud Platform Architecture: Design and implement a multi-account AWS architecture leveraging AWS Organizations, VPC design, PrivateLink, and Transit Gateway.
• Infrastructure as Code: Develop modular, reusable Terraform Cloud templates for complete AWS provisioning and lifecycle management.
• GitOps Enablement: Build automated workflows (e.g., Argo CD) for infrastructure and application deployments across all environments.
• Environment-as-a-Service: Deliver "Environment on Demand" capabilities for provisioning, scaling, cloning, and teardown via Git-based workflows.
• Automation & Governance: Implement configuration drift detection, automated remediation, cost optimization, and compliance controls.
• Kubernetes Management: Operate and secure Amazon EKS clusters with advanced features such as service mesh (Istio), policy enforcement (OPA/Kyverno), and container security (NeuVector).
• Service Automation: Automate configurations for Aurora PostgreSQL, MSK (Kafka), S3, API Gateway, and other AWS services.
• Security & Compliance: Design IAM policies for least privilege, automate secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault), and enforce security policies through AWS Config and Security Hub.
• Monitoring & Observability: Build dashboards, define SLO/SLI metrics, and implement proactive monitoring using DataDog and AWS CloudWatch.
• Resilience & Reliability: Introduce chaos engineering (Gremlin), disaster recovery automation, and failure injection testing to validate system robustness.
• Deployment Strategies: Architect automated deployment patterns including blue-green, canary releases, and rollback procedures.
• Cost & Performance Optimization: Automate rightsizing, reserved instance management, and capacity planning.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• At least 12 years of total years of experience with 5+ years in cloud infrastructure with deep AWS expertise; 3+ years hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Cloud preferred).
• Proven experience managing production Kubernetes clusters and implementing GitOps workflows.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and automated governance.
• AWS certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, Security Specialty.
• Kubernetes certifications: CKA, CKAD.
• Terraform certification: HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate/Professional.
• Experience in financial services or wagering industry is a plus.
• Familiarity with service mesh, chaos engineering, and advanced observability practices.
