A commercial bank is seeking an experienced Vice President, HR Shared Services to serve as the Deputy Lead of the HR Shared Service Centre for our Commercial Banking business. This role is critical to ensuring the effective, compliant, and high-quality delivery of HR operations across the organisation. The position will assist in leading a Shared Services Centre of approximately 10 headcounts, driving service excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across end-to-end HR operational processes.
Your new role Deputy Leadership & Team Management
Act as deputy to the Head of HR Shared Services, supporting overall strategy, governance, and service delivery
Manage, coach, and develop a Shared Services team of ~10 staff to ensure high performance and service quality
Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
HR Operations Delivery
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Oversee license and regulatory registrations required for banking staff
Ensure effective HR system maintenance, data integrity, and user support
Manage HR data administration, reporting, and controls
Ensure adherence to HR policies, local labor laws, regulatory and compliance requirements
Stakeholder Management
Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, Compliance, Risk, IT, and Finance
Act as a key escalation point for complex operational issues
Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control assessments related to HR operations
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree is an advantage
Extensive HR Operations experience gained within sizable or Chinese Banks, preferably in Shared Services or HR Operations leadership role
Proven experience managing a sizable HR operations team and handling multiple operational workstreams
Strong hands-on knowledge of: Payroll administration, Employee lifecycle operations (joiner/mover/leaver), Regulatory licensing and registration processes, HR systems and data management, HR compliance within a regulated financial services environment
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese Cantonese and Mandarin.
