Your new role As a Special Assets Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in managing distressed or non-performing assets within the bank's portfolio. Your expertise will be essential in minimising losses and maximising recovery. You'll collaborate with various teams, including credit, legal, and risk management, to develop strategies for handling troubled loans and other distressed assets.



What you'll need to succeed

• Portfolio Management:
  • Oversee a portfolio of distressed assets, including non-performing loans, foreclosed properties, and other troubled accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategies to mitigate risk, recover value, and minimise losses.
  • Monitor asset performance and recommend necessary actions.
• Loan Workout and Restructuring:
  • Work closely with borrowers facing financial difficulties to find mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Negotiate loan modifications, restructurings, and settlements.
  • Collaborate with legal and credit teams to ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies.
• Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including credit officers, legal counsel, and senior management.
  • Prepare regular reports on asset performance, recovery efforts, and risk exposure.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay informed about relevant banking regulations, foreclosure laws, and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to asset management.
• Loss Mitigation:
  • Implement loss mitigation strategies, such as loan sales, auctions, or asset disposition.
  • Evaluate potential buyers or investors for distressed assets.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead a team of asset managers, analysts, and support staff.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

What you'll get in return

• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Experience: 7-10 years of experience in commercial banking, credit risk management, or special assets management.
