Kennedy School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Student Counsellor from August 2026. The position is part-time with a maximum of 16.5 hours per week.
The role provides confidential personal counselling for students as individuals and groups and enhances students, families and community support.
Job duties of the successful candidate will include but not be limited to the items below :
Key Responsibilities
Student Counselling
Provide confidential personal counselling for students as individuals and groups
Work with families as and when necessary
Maintain and monitor effective referral mechanism, both for teachers and students
Liaise with the school to ensure effective flow of information
Employ appropriate assessment and screening tools
Community support
Identify and respond to trends in student needs
Work closely with Learning Enhancement Team and Senior Leadership Team
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a talented and accomplished counsellor with the required knowledge, skills and understanding to work closely with an experienced team of educators, dedicated to catering for the needs of all children in their care.
We are looking for someone with a warm personality coupled with strong interpersonal skills, which will enable you to communicate effectively with all members of the school community.
In addition to being an exemplary practitioner and excellent team player, the successful candidate will also be extremely well organised, and possess excellent spoken and written English skills.
He/She must also possess a recognised degree in counselling and have the ability to work within a counsellor’s Code of Ethics.
Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.

About the Team
ESF Kennedy School occupies a pleasant location on the west of Hong Kong Island. It benefits from the use of the swimming and sporting facilities of The University of Hong Kong’s Stanley Ho Sports Centre, which is adjacent to the school. Music, Performing Arts and Physical Education are strengths of the school. A strong interest in environmental and ecological issues is also a theme of the learning.
