Team Head, Financial Accounting & Reporting - Large Corporate Bank

My client is a Reputable and Large Corporate Bank Branch in Hong Kong with an established presence in the Asia region. They are currently seeking a new Team Head to lead the financial accounting and reporting team.

Job Duties:

• Report directly to CFO and lead a team of less than 8
• Lead the charge in driving and maintaining the integrity of accounting and financial reporting processes in alignment with the Group's accounting standards and controls, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and promote standardization.
• Thoroughly examine all financial reports mandated by Head Office and external authorities to guarantee punctual submission and adherence to group reporting standards.
• Develop, maintain and continuously enhance the Bank's accounting policies and financial reporting framework; proactively identify and address emerging accounting issues and changes in standards
• Drive month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing processes with strong focus on quality control, variance analysis and insightful management commentary.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to business units, subsidiaries and senior management on complex transactions and financial reporting implications.
• Coordinate with external auditors, internal audit, group head office reporting teams and other stakeholders to ensure smooth audit processes and resolution of findings.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, professionalism and continuous improvement within the small team; mentor and develop team members.
• Participate in strategic finance initiatives and special projects as directed by the CFO.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related
• CPA qualification preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting / financial reporting, within banking industry with experience leading a small team
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
