BEAM Society Limited (BSL) is an independent, non-profit membership organization established in 2010. BSL is also recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap112) and as a public body under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (Cap 201) since 2016.
BEAM Society was established in 1996, which was later incorporated in 2010 as BEAM Society Limited. Being the developer and owner of the Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM), BSL is committed to administering and developing the BEAM Plus Assessment Tools. We offer impartial assessment on building sustainability and build capacity by providing training for BEAM practitioners – BEAM Professionals (BEAM Pro) and BEAM Affiliates.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the Committees, Expert Panels, BEAM Assessors to collect information, and compile comments and reports for project assessment.
2. Assist in verifying the deliverables provided by the BEAM Assessors to ensure that they follow the requirements outlined in the Assessment Manual and other relevant FAQs / Circular Letters to ensure the accuracy, consistency and quality of the project assessment.
3. Monitor the progress of the entire assessment on a regular basis in order to ensure the assessment is completed within the pledged timeline.
4. Provide technical support to Committees and Task Forces.
5. Arrange and co-ordinate meetings as required.
6. Conduct administrative and secretarial work as required.
7. Handle ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Built Environment /Environmental Science and Engineering / Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Energy Science and Engineering / Sustainability, or related discipline.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant local green and sustainability design consultancy. Fresh graduates will also be considered.
3. General knowledge on software for building design / BIM / simulation, e.g. AutoCAD, Rhino3D, Revit, IES, eQUEST, DIALux, Fluent, etc. is an advantage.
4. Recognized green building professional qualification, e.g. BEAM Affiliate, LEED Green Associate, etc. is an advantage.
5. Be able to work independently, under pressure and in a team with good interpersonal and communication skills.
