The Division of Continuing and Professional Education is committed to offering continuing professional training opportunities to local and overseas Chinese medicine practitioners and related healthcare personnel. The taught postgraduate and sub-degree programmes managed by the Division are designed to equip students with the most up-to-date knowledge and applicable skills to meet the evolving needs of the industry.


The Division invites applications for the position of Technical Instructor. The appointee is primarily responsible for providing a wide range of teaching and learning support to taught-postgraduate programmes and sub-degree programmes offered by the School of Chinese Medicine. 


Responsibilities:



  • Providing administrative support for day-to-day classes, assessments, and programme operations: maintaining Moodle course sites and enrolments; coordinating logistics; handling student recruitment, admissions, and timetabling;

  • Coordinating practice-based learning (e.g., clinical attachments and field visits): planning, logistics, and on-site support;

  • Liaising with teachers and students on student-related matters;

  • Providing technical support for laboratory/dispensary/practicum teaching: preparing materials/guides; operating and maintaining facilities/equipment; managing inventory and consumables; implementing safety/compliance;

  • Supporting quality assurance and accreditation documentation, data and reporting; and

  • Performing other duties as assigned.


Duties in evenings and weekends are required.

Requirements:


Applicants should preferably possess a master's degree in Chinese Medicine or Pharmacy in Chinese Medicine. Applicants with teaching-related experience in the higher education sector, a pass in the Chinese Medicine Practitioners Licensing Examination recognised by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong or a Licensed Pharmacist in China will be an advantage. The appointees should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.


The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.


Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
