Technical Lead, Event Management and Operation

(This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance)

The Technical Lead, Event Management and Operation is responsible for overseeing the technical planning, execution, and support of all event-related infrastructure and services. This role manages a team of internal and external specialists to ensure seamless operation of event technology, including Wi-Fi, dedicated internet, AV devices, and onsite coordination.

You will be responsible for:

• leading and supervising the technical team in planning, deploying, and supporting event infrastructure (Wi-Fi, internet, AV, and related systems);

• coordinating event organizers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions;

• overseeing the lifecycle of event technology assets, including budgeting, procurement, setup, maintenance, and decommissioning;

• providing technical guidance for complex event setups, troubleshooting, and incident response during live events;

• developing and maintaining technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and event post-mortem reports;

• ensuring compliance with safety, security, and organizational standards for all event technology deployments;

• assisting in the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to enhance event experiences;

• ensuring stakeholder satisfaction in event and end user computing operations by delivering reliable device provisioning, configuration, and support services, while maintaining clear communication and responsiveness to user needs; and

• performing any other duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by the Authority.

You should:

• possess a recognized university degree or diploma in electronics engineering;

• have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in IT or event technology, with a focus on live event operations;

• have proven experience managing event Wi-Fi, dedicated internet, AV systems, and onsite technical support;

• have strong project management and vendor coordination skills;

• have experience with large-scale event setups and rapid troubleshooting under pressure;

• have excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills;

• have ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team; and

• have good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
