Trading Support Engineer -- HFT & Market-Making Buyside Firm

Our client, a leading HFT & market making firm is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled individual to thrive in a dynamic environment while applying their expertise in a diverse technical capacity. The selected candidate will join our global Infrastructure and Technology Service team, based in Hong Kong. You will be tasked with maintaining our trading IT systems, supporting the end-to-end trading application, and providing direct assistance to the trading teams.

• Take ownership of critical incidents by diagnosing root causes, minimizing operational impact, and leading post-mortem analyses to prevent future occurrences.
• Ensure the smooth functioning of distributed, multi-server trading systems.
• Serve as the primary resource for traders by offering hands-on support on the trade floor and direct application assistance.
• Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination and management of production software releases to ensure stability and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with Operations and Development teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex production challenges.
• Design and implement effective monitoring and logging solutions to enhance system reliability and visibility.
• Automate and streamline workflows by creating scripts and tools to promote operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement by proactively identifying areas for enhancement and recommending better processes or tools.
• Participate in occasional after-hours support and testing as necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in trading support or a comparable technical role.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and preferably in Linux environment
• A proven ability to initiate change and achieve results within a collaborative setting.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• A strong interest in automation and developing scalable, standards-compliant solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to excel in a fast-paced trading environment.
