Job Description - Trust Operations Director

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate closely with the Trust Advisory to develop a comprehensive commercial operational framework and standard operating procedures for family trust services.
  2. Oversee the effective delivery of daily trust administration, information system development, and client support functions.
  3. Lead the end‑to‑end development of trust management platforms, covering front‑, middle‑, and back‑office workflows, including project lifecycle tracking, automated compliance reviews, financial reporting, and real‑time risk monitoring.
  4. Drive the automation of operational workflows (e.g., document filing, report generation) to enhance efficiency and minimize manual errors.
  5. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks (e.g., delays in manual reporting, compliance gaps) and implement targeted improvement initiatives on a quarterly basis.
  6. Ensure all trust administration activities strictly adhere to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, upholding compliance standards.
  7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve client service experience and overall operational effectiveness.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are preferred.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of solid experience in trust administration, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred.
  3. In‑depth knowledge of trust setup and routine administrative processes, including trust distributions, addition/removal of beneficiaries, trust restructuring, and reporting.
  4. Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to coordinate cross‑departmental resources and drive multiple tasks concurrently.
  5. Open‑minded and adaptable, capable of responding effectively to dynamic market and regulatory environments.
  6. Proficiency in trust management systems, with strong skills in system optimisation and data management.
  7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and results‑oriented attitude.
  8. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin is a must as a working language.
  9. Proficient in MS Office Suite and Chinese word processing.
