Job Description - Type 6, Sponsor Principal (Takeover Code, Executive Director)

Job Title: Type 6, Sponsor Principal (Takeover Code, Executive Director)

Location: Central, Hong Kong

Job Responsibilities:

  • Market and Strategy Updates: Provide regular insights and updates on market trends and strategies to sales teams.
  • Transaction Execution Oversight: Supervise the execution of corporate finance transactions, including IPOs, financial advisory services, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, and other fundraising activities.
  • Transaction Management: Manage corporate finance transactions encompassing due diligence, record keeping, internal compliance, and coordination with other professional parties involved in the transactions.
  • Communication: Liaise with clients, professional parties, and regulatory authorities, including the Stock Exchange and the SFC.
  • Support Department Head: Assist the department head with managing corporate finance transactions, including facilitating internal approvals and ensuring compliance.
  • Independent Origination and Evaluation: Work independently on the origination and evaluation of potential deals, marketing initiatives, and the management of client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or law from a reputable university; an MBA, CPA, or CFA is highly preferred.
  • Licenses: Possess SFC Type 1 and Type 6 RO licenses.
  • Current Role: Must be an existing sponsor principal and RO at your current employer or meet the eligibility criteria, including the necessary experience and qualifications to apply for RO and sponsor principal licenses.
  • Experience: 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in HK IPOs and corporate finance, with a proven track record of supervising and managing at least 5 IPOs from start to finish. Experience in Chinese organizations or banks is preferred.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the securities market, investment banking, and corporate finance activities.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Listing Rules, Takeovers Code, and other relevant regulations; preferably with experience as a sponsor principal.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Title Flexibility: Titles will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
