VP - Distribution Compliance (Asia)

We are exclusively mandated by a leading global private markets firm to appoint aCompliance Officer, Marketing & Distribution (VP level) for its Asia Pacific team, based in Hong Kong or Singapore.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance APAC, this role partners closely with fundraising and private wealth teams across the region, with regular interaction with global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review and approve marketing and investor-facing materials (pitchbooks, presentations, factsheets, investor letters, web content, etc.)
2. Advise on marketing and distribution compliance across Asia Pacific, including private placement regimes
3. Support cross-border fundraising activities and regulatory filings (including SFC and MAS requirements)
4. Review DDQs, RFPs, and participate in investor due diligence processes
5. Provide guidance on external communications, including press releases and social media
6. Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on marketing and distribution activities
7. Partner with global compliance and legal teams to ensure consistency and alignment
8. Support compliance monitoring, communication surveillance, and internal reviews
9. Act as a key compliance advisor to the Asia fundraising and private wealth teams

Ideal Candidate Profile

1. 8–10 years of experience in compliance, legal, or related functions within asset management, private markets, or alternatives
2. Strong experience in Asia marketing and distribution compliance; Hong Kong knowledge preferred
3. Familiarity with private placement regimes and cross-border fundraising activities
4. Exposure to private wealth and/or institutional distribution is advantageous
5. Working knowledge of US SEC marketing rules is a plus
6. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to operate effectively under tight timelines
7. Chinese language capability (reading) preferred but not essential
