Role Description My client is a leading Chinese Investment bank urgently seeking for a VP level in their ECM team. The ideal candidate should have both executuon and sydication experience.

The VP, Equity Capital Markets, Investment Banking Division role is a full-time, on-site position based in Hong Kong SAR.

The role includes originating, structuring, and executing equity and equity-linked offerings such as IPOs, follow-on offerings, block trades, and convertible bonds for corporate and institutional clients.

Daily responsibilities involve preparing pitch books and transaction materials, conducting market and valuation analysis, coordinating due diligence, and collaborating closely with sector coverage, syndicate, legal, and compliance teams.

The VP will lead project workstreams, manage junior team members, and maintain investor and issuer relationships to support successful deal execution. The role also involves monitoring regional and global equity markets, advising clients on timing and structure, and contributing to strategic product development and business growth initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Strong equity capital markets and investment banking experience, including IPOs, follow-ons, and equity-linked transactions.
2. Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
3. Solid understanding of Hong Kong and regional regulatory frameworks, listing rules, and ECM transaction processes.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear pitch materials and client presentations.
5. Proven ability to lead deal workstreams, manage junior team members, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
6. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline; professional qualifications (e.g., CFA) are an advantage.
7. Fluency in Mandarin; proficiency in English is highly beneficial for client and investor interaction.
