Role Overview:
This role sits within a core engineering team responsible for modernising and enhancing internal trading and monitoring platforms. You will play a key role in migrating legacy desktop functionality to a modern web‑based stack, while improving the performance and reliability of real‑time data applications used across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Migrate functionality from a legacy C# desktop application to a modern web platform
Re‑implement complex business logic for high‑performance, real‑time web interfaces
Build and optimise real‑time data visualisations with minimal latency
Improve WebSocket‑based data pipelines, including message routing and compression
Optimise UI performance for large, frequently updating data sets
Collaborate with infrastructure and backend teams on new feature development
Provide production support and resolve issues in live systems
Introduce and maintain automated testing frameworks and best practices
Key Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in C# / .NET development (ASP.NET Core Web APIs)
Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, ideally Vue.js (Vue 3) and TypeScript
Proven background building real‑time web applications using WebSockets, SSE, or similar
Experience with high‑performance data rendering (virtualisation, efficient DOM updates)
Familiarity with binary data protocols (e.g. Protobuf or equivalent)
Experience using Web Workers to offload CPU‑intensive tasks
Solid SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and ORMs
Exposure to caching technologies such as Redis
Experience with message brokers (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
Nice to Have:
Experience with high‑performance data grid libraries
Knowledge of modern state management and CSS frameworks
Understanding of authentication and SSO systems (OAuth2, SAML, etc.)
Background in trading, fintech, or financial services environments
Location & Work Setup:
Based in Hong Kong
Primarily onsite with flexibility depending on team requirements
