Pay : HK$26,173 to HK$31,265 (HGPS Point 9 to 12) per month including Monthly Allowance

Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as end-of-contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff upon completion of the contract subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

To assist supervisors and managers in the management of day-to-day building and facilities repair and maintenance works, and any other services provided by the Department. The major duties are:

1. Assist in supervising a group of technical staff (including artisans, OpA I, OpA II, tradesmen etc) and assist in monitoring performance of contractors and service providers for day-to-day building maintenance and inspection.

2. Providing technical support to daily project works in relation to the building works matters and day-to-day building maintenance works.

3. Assist in monitoring the standard and quality of materials and workmanship of building works.

4. Assist to conduct regular inspections and monitoring of building works of progress, and prepare their reports.

5. Assist in witness all open-up inspections and field testing in relation to building works on behalf of the cluster.

6. Assist to liaise with contractors, consultants and other working parties on technical matters relating to the execution of building works on site.

7. Work with safety officers, and safety auditor for safety and health matters relating to building works.

8. To assist in the procurement of spare parts and maintenance of the related stores

9. To attend emergency calls after office hours as requested and during inclement weather according to rosters.

10. Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers of Facilities Management of the Hong Kong East Cluster.

Entry Requirements

1. a) A Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

from Hong Kong Polytechnic / Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Hong Kong Technical College /

Hong Kong Technical Institute / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education, or equivalent;

OR

b) 5 years of relevant working experience as skilled worker in the field of Building Services
Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;

OR

c) Completed a recognized Technician Apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering or
Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

2. A knowledge of English and Chinese equivalent to Form 3 (before 2012) / Secondary 3 standard.

3. Obtained valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card).

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1. Knowledge of other common office automation (e.g. e-mail, internet/intranet, word processor, excel etc.) and PC applications.

2. Good interpersonal communication and presentation skill.

3. Responsible, self-motivated and able to work independently under minimum supervision.

4. Outgoing, able to work under pressure and stressful situation, including crises.

5. Relevant trade test certificate issued by Construction Industry Council Training Academy (CICTA) or by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in a relevant trade.

6. Registered Minor Works Contractor (Individual) under the Ordinance Cap. 583.

7. Has formal training in occupational safety and health is an advantage.

8. Knowledge of building inspections is an advantage.
