The role of Wm Morrison (HK) Ltd is to provide the best possible product range of non-food products to its 500 stores, from factories and suppliers globally.

 

Key accountabilities:

• Implement the technical process following the well-established quality framework and KPI; communicate and report closely with the line manager. Fine-tune and adjust the way of working based on company needs or line manager instruction.
• Working closely with the buyer, technical team, and ethical team to manage the critical path to ensure the range lands on time with the right quality and specification for customers. Tasks may include buying trips supports, factory evaluation, samples evaluation, risk assessment, test reports review, and inspection result review.
• End-to-end product evaluation to ensure the product is fit for purpose and complies with the technical and safety requirements.
• Review and follow up on customer complaints and work with the supplier on continuous improvement and drive return rate reduction.
• Management of 3rd party audit and inspection process by reviewing factory technical audit reports and inspection reports and implementing corrective actions with the factories
• Manage suppliers to develop long-term partnerships to provide technical support, and review and monitor supplier’s performance. Review and propose the qualified supplier take more ownership, e.g. self-inspection.

 Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of technical experience in Hardline or Seasonal product ranges. (e.g. . X’mas; Seasonal events; Giftings; X’mas trees and lighting, toys, etc). Similar hardline experience may also be considered.
• Relevant experience in factory evaluation and production check
• Hands-on experience in product risk assessment and evaluation
• Good command of spoken & written English and conversational Mandarin is essential
• A good team player with strong communication and organizational skills
• The ability to work independently with overseas buyers, suppliers, and factories
• Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Quality Technologist
