Reports To:  Head of Transformation Advisory – Portfolio Management

Department:  Group Transformation Advisory (GTA)

A member of team of professionals working with business units across the group by advising, mentoring, teaching and providing support to shaping mindsets and applying methods to bring about relentless improvement and awareness of the financial impact of processes and decisions. These methods and practices include team and enterprise level agile; Lean; Six Sigma; process mapping; Portfolio Management (LPM); Project management; and change management. The mindsets include the behaviours and beliefs from a growth mindset, servant leadership, and the agile values are needed to use these practices. This person has passion in supporting the learning and energised to apply a practical working understanding one or more of the above practices with good level knowledge in at least one practice. Depending on the need from the business, this person may play the role of advisor, analyst, coach, change agent, facilitator, scrum master, project manager, change manager, or run a project / portfolio management office. The initial focus is to support the development and execution of the communication plan and activities which bring awareness across the corporate of the defined methodologies and to optimally shape mindsets for change. 

Key Responsibilities

Depending practice or methodology knowledge the roles will include:

  • Supporting Lean Mentor, developing into/excel in advising, coaching and working with candidates on their Yellow, Green and Black Belt Projects.
  • Process or data analysis to support problem definition, measuring or evaluating solutions.
  • Supporting agile teams acting as servant leaders and process authorities to drive relentless improvement.
  • Support Project Managers to plan, organise and direct the completion of specific projects within a specified time, budget and scope.
  • Assist Change Managers working with business to develop and implement change plans.
  • Assist in planning, organizing and executing communication plans and activities
  • Work closely with internal communication team to deliver consistent messages
  • Support the business units in running Project or Portfolio Management offices
  • Support the Facilitation of workshops or meetings
  • Support projects or business in developing stakeholder maps, risk registers, defining problem statements, strategy, mission or vision statements
  • Where required support the end-to-end Global Process Owners with meetings and projects to support the continuous improvement of their processes.

Training and Learning

  • Be part of the development of training curriculum the related methods and practices.
  • Support training or conduct part of training in the relevant practice

Development

  • Work with the Heads of Transformation Advisory and the Transformation Advisory Managers to develop the relevant practice’s: tools, templates, standards and strategy
  • Support innovation and development of tools and solutions used by the various practices.

Requirements

  • Preferably holds a Bachelor degree or above and/or certification in the relevant practice, including: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt; Scrum Master, PSM or CSM; SAFe Agilist, Understand project and portfolio related practices e.g. Change Management Professional or Prosci Change Management, Project Management Professional (PMI or Prince2)
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in large-scale projects. A mix of consulting and in-house experience will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate a track record of project delivery/support with visible benefits possibly in different industries
  • Experienced in a communication team, especially internal communications, in large organizations
  • Experienced in supporting training, mentoring and coaching
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to compile and analyze large amounts of data in order to extract relevant information and identify patterns
  • Self-motivated, active listener, able to share ideas, takes initiative to solve problems proactively and is willing to give extra effort to get the job done
  • Strong change agent with good interpersonal skill able to influence without authority
  • Mobile and willing to work outside of your comfort zone
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; Cantonese or Mandarin will be an advantage
