Term / Part-time (Daytime) Lecturer

Major Duties :

To perform teaching duties such as supervision of students’ projects and fieldwork placement in the area(s) mentioned above;

To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration;

To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials;

To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;

To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions; and

To attend meetings when necessary.

Requirements :

A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification;

At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience, preferably in the field of Real Estate and Property Management, Business Management, Human Resources Management, Market, Finance and Insurance, Aviation Services, Transport and Logistics, Banking and/or Accounting and Finance;

Good communication, teaching and presentation skills in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;

Candidate(s) with sound knowledge in information technology and quantitative analysis would be in advantage; 

A good team player with a proactive attitude;

Preferably with knowledge and experience in curriculum and new module development;

Candidate(s) with good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies and/or good understanding of VPET education would be an advantage; and

Specific Requirements for Different Subject Areas :

For Real Estate and Property Management:
Familiar with BIM software, e.g. Revit, AutoCAD etc, and preferably with the professional qualification of MHKIS (General Practice) or equivalent

For Business Management:
Preferably with solid experience in global business and / or supply chain management, and / or in programme management such as programme validation and timetabling

For Human Resources Management:
Familiar with human resource operations such as employee performance management, compensation and benefits management, or human resource information system

For Marketing:
Relevant knowledge or experience in social media marketing and web/data analytics would be an advantage

For Finance and Insurance:
Familiar with finance and insurance such as investment analytics, risk management, insurance products and practices; preferable to have knowledge in wealth management and insurance operation

For Aviation Services:
Familiar with the operations of the commercial sector in aviation industry including airline operations, ramp services, ground services, air cargo handling and airline catering

For Transport and Logistics:
For transport management, relevant knowledge and experiences in public or private transport operations, transport planning, fleet management and passenger transport services (such as Cruse / Railway / Bus). For logistics management, relevant knowledge and experiences on cold chain, warehousing, e-commerce operations, DG handling, airfreight and shipping practices

For Banking:
Familiar with accounting in banking such as financial reporting, investment decisions and budgeting; preferable to have knowledge in banking operation and wealth management

For Accounting and Finance:
Familiar with FinTech basics and the professional core modules in Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Financial Management

Notes :

Candidate(s) with less experience may be considered for the post of “Term Assistant Lecturer / Part-time Assistant Lecturer” in the rank of Teaching Associate.

Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment.

The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties in different locations.
