Li Ka Shing School of Professional & Continuing Education (LiPACE)
The Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE) is one of the seven constituent schools of Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Originally established in 1992 as the Centre for Continuing and Community Education (CCCE) and renamed as LiPACE in 2000, it has carried out its original mission of serving the broadest range of learners in HK. LiPACE is now an established Vocational Professional Education and Training (VPET) provider of full-time post-secondary education and part-time professional and continuing education as well as corporate training. At the same time, it advances non-formal learning through its two flagship programmes for women and senior learners, the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (CBMP) and Elderly Academy at Hong Kong Metropolitan University (EAMU). Over the years, LiPACE has developed into an established and mature post-secondary, continuing and professional education provider which makes an important contribution to the University. It performs complementary but vital roles in fulfilling the University's founding mission of providing education for all, as evidenced by the extensive range of disciplines covered and study levels of its programmes, as well as the diversity in age, nationality and occupation of its learners.

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position(s) in the LiPACE : Part-time Instructor (LiPACE) - (Ref.: 24001A3) Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for teaching courses at different levels in the following subject areas on a part-time basis (daytime on weekdays).

Full-time Programmes (Higher Diploma / Diploma / Diploma of Applied Education) - Daytime Teaching on Weekdays

1. Basic Medical Science (e.g. Anatomy and Physiology, Human Pathophysiology, Microbiology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Pharmacology)
2. Disciplinary Forces (e.g. Police Force, Fire & Ambulance Service, Immigration Service, Customs and Excise Service, Correctional Services)
3. English Language
4. Nursing (e.g. Basic Caring Skills and Health Assessment, Elderly Care Nursing, Fundamental Health Interventions, Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Promotion, Ethical and Legal Issues in Healthcare)
5. Supplementary Health Care Subjects (e.g. Chinese Medicine, Dispensing, Food and Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health Care, Sociology and Health, Digital Health Management, Applications of Gerontechnology)
6. Tourism and Hospitality (e.g. Tourism, Hotel, Theme Park, Airline)

 
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

• A relevant higher degree and professional qualifications in the related subject area; and
• At least 5 years' relevant working experience.

Candidates with lower qualification but with substantial working experience may also be considered.

Candidates may be invited to have a teaching demonstration during the interview.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment
