ESF Explore seeks enthusiastic Sports Assistants to join our various sports programmes on a part-time, hourly basis.
A Sports Assistant (SA) plays a crucial role in supporting Lead Coaches during sessions, ensuring high health and safety standards, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. We offer programmes across several sports, including Basketball, Football, Multi-Sports, and Swimming.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching Support: Follow directions from Lead Coaches to assist with session delivery, demonstrate drills, supervise activities, and reinforce programme rules.
Student Engagement: Act as a positive role model, offering continuous guidance, support, and encouragement to keep sessions safe and engaging for young learners.
Operations & Administration: Assist with timely equipment setup and pack-away, student registration, attendance tracking, and the distribution of session materials.
Safety & Supervision: Help identify potential hazards on-site, report any incidents promptly, and assist with safe student pick-up and dismissal.
Requirements & Personal Attributes:
Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
Passion for Sports: Genuinely interested in sports, physical education, coaching, and working with young children.
Core Traits: Patient, energetic, highly approachable, and eager to learn from our senior coaching teams.
Reliability: Responsible, punctual, and fully committed to all assigned schedules.
Communication Skills: Strong English communication skills (Cantonese and Mandarin are highly valued but not essential).
Availability: After-school hours, weekends, and seasonal school holidays are highly preferred.
Development & CAS Opportunities:
Professional Development: The Programme Manager may suggest a voluntary, unpaid onboarding period to introduce the foundations of sports coaching, familiarise candidates with ESF Explore, and build coaching confidence.
IB Students (CAS): This role is excellently structured to help International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma students seamlessly fulfil both the Activity and Service requirements of their CAS programme.
Important Notes:
Eligibility: Applicants must be permanent residents of Hong Kong or possess a valid visa permitting employment in Hong Kong.
Child Safeguarding: ESF Explore is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Eligible candidates (aged 18 or above) will be required to undergo a Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) prior to commencement.
Banking: Successful applicants must possess a Hong Kong bank account in their own name for payroll purposes.
