Job Description - Digital Project Manager (web & Apps)

The Role


The Senior Project Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping Hogarth’s evolution toward AI-enabled production. In addition to managing web and content-at-scale programmes, the role is responsible for the coordination and delivery of AI and automation-powered initiatives, including WPP Open Pilots, Production Studio demos, proofs of concept, and innovation workstreams. This requires the ability to translate strategic ambitions into actionable delivery plans, bridging creative, technical, and operational teams to ensure that new technologies are deployed effectively and responsibly.


Reporting into one of our Digital Programme Directors, the Senior Project Manager oversees a portfolio of projects, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities include:



  • AI & Innovation Delivery: Lead the end-to-end project management of AI initiatives, from scoping and planning to execution and delivery, specifically leveraging WPP Open to build and deploy AI powered production and agentic workflows solutions

  • Project Leadership: Initiate and execute projects including scope, budget, and schedule definition, ensuring effective management of scope changes, briefing, burn rates, and progress tracking.

  • Financial Control: Manage projects with at least £250K budget, ensuring rigorous financial tracking and reconciliation.



  • Technical Translation: Act as the crucial bridge between client requirements and technical teams (AI specialists, data engineers, developers), translating complex concepts into clear actions and deliverables.

  • Agile Enablement: Promote agile and iterative delivery approaches suited to innovation environments; coach internal teams and clients to embrace experimentation and rapid learning.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as an internal source of expertise in the digital project management field, responding swiftly to queries and emphasising best practice project management techniques.

  • Team Mentorship: Support and mentor more junior members of the team, potentially training them on project lifecycles and best practices.

  • Stakeholder Management: Represent Hogarth to the client and other third-party partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment.

  • Closure & Documentation: Oversee project closure documentation to ensure learnings are captured and processes are finalised.


Requirements


All Project Managers must demonstrate proven capability in the following areas:



  • Scope Management: The ability to control the work included in a project, ensuring that all the work that has been scoped and budgeted can be delivered.

  • Time Management: The ability to ensure timely completion of projects, including activity (task) definition and sequencing processes.

  • Cost Management: The ability to plan, estimate, and control costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget; this includes resource planning, cost budgeting, and project reconciliation.

  • Quality Management: The ability to ensure that project delivery meets the quality needs defined by both best practice and client expectations.

  • Resource Management: The ability to task manage globally distributed project teams; this includes aligning on project objectives, defining roles, and assigning team members.

  • Communication Management: The ability to link people, ideas, and information throughout a project life cycle.

  • Risk Management: The ability to identify, analyse, and properly respond to project risks.

  • SCRUM: The ability to use the methods of Scrum in management projects.

  • Client Servicing: The ability to manage client needs through the entire project lifecycle.

  • Technical Literacy: Strong practical understanding of AI models and their application.


Experience:



  • Minimum 5+ years of Project Management experience.

  • Experience working in digital agencies on large global accounts.

  • Experience working in a decoupled environment and collaborating effectively with other third-party agencies.

  • Strong knowledge of Content Management and CRM systems (Experience with Drupal, AEM, SiteCore, .NET systems, Dynamics would be ideal).

  • Experience delivering large master and localisation web site projects.

  • Proven experience managing globally distributed project teams.


Desirable Skills



  • Cross-office and international project management experience.

  • Knowledge of a foreign language.

  • Copywriting/Editing skills, particularly for technical documentation.

  • Test Management & Execution – Understanding of QA practices.
