Head of Platform Engineering (GSP)

Study Now Ltd is seeking an experienced Head of Platform Engineering to take full technical ownership of our in-house application platform, Global Students Pathway (GSP).

This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building, scaling, and intelligently evolving a workflow-driven platform that supports student lifecycle management, admissions operations, and partner collaboration. The successful candidate will lead platform engineering, automation architecture, and practical AI integration while building and mentoring an internal development team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys transforming operational systems into intelligent, scalable digital ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Architecture

• Take full technical ownership of the GSP platform architecture and codebase.


• Define and maintain engineering standards, coding practices, and system design principles.


• Lead infrastructure evolution to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.


• Oversee deployment pipelines, version control, and production environments.

CRM & Workflow Development

• Design and extend internal CRM logic and workflow engines within the platform.


• Implement scalable permission hierarchies, stage-based progression systems, and role driven features.


• Translate business and operational requirements into robust technical solutions.

Automation Engineering

• Architect and implement automation frameworks that reduce manual workload across student lifecycle, admissions, and compliance processes.


• Identify opportunities for rule-based automation, conditional triggers, and system driven decisions.


• Continuously optimize workflows for efficiency and accuracy.

Applied AI Integration (Practical, Not Theoretical)

Integrate AI-powered capabilities such as:

o    Lead scoring and prioritisation

o    Document validation assistance

o    Predictive analytics and decision support

o    Smart routing and tagging

o    Conversational or support assistants

• Evaluate and implement AI tools responsibly with measurable outcomes.


• Explore emerging AI technologies relevant to CRM intelligence and education platforms.

Feature Expansion & Product Evolution

• Lead the technical design and delivery of new platform modules and enhancements.


• Collaborate with product and systems leadership to convert roadmap items into technical deliverables.


• Ensure backward compatibility, data integrity, and seamless feature rollouts.

Team Building & Leadership

• Recruit, structure, and mentor an internal engineering team.


• Conduct code reviews, performance assessments, and knowledge-sharing sessions.


• Establish documentation standards, onboarding practices, and a strong engineering culture.

Security, Compliance & Data Integrity

• Implement secure coding practices, data protection standards, and audit-ready system structures.


• Maintain platform resilience against vulnerabilities and ensure regulatory compliance where applicable.

 Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of full-stack or platform engineering experience.


• Demonstrable experience building or extending CRM or workflow-driven platforms.


• Proven ability to design and implement automation systems or rule engines.


• Hands-on experience integrating AI APIs, ML tools, or LLM-based capabilities into live systems.


• Strong backend architecture knowledge (APIs, databases, microservices).


• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.


• Capability to lead technical hiring and mentor developers.


• Experience adding and scaling new features within active platforms.


• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to EdTech or student lifecycle platforms.


• Experience scaling SaaS or internal enterprise systems.


• Familiarity with analytics pipelines or intelligent dashboards.
