002ACH - Senior SYSPRO Technical / Systems Architect Cloud Migration (AWS)

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SYSPRO Technical / Systems Architect to lead the migration of SYSPRO ERP from on-premise infrastructure to the AWS cloud. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise in SYSPRO and the ability to independently plan, execute, and stabilize large-scale ERP cloud migrations.

The role involves full ownership of technical architecture, migration execution, system stability, security, and performance of mission-critical ERP workloads. This position is the SYSPRO equivalent of an SAP BASIS Architect, accountable for infrastructure, databases, security, performance, and integrations while ensuring business continuity and data integrity.

Responsibilities

SYSPRO Migration & Architecture

• Assess and document the existing on-premise SYSPRO environment, including application servers, databases, customizations, jobs, reports, and interfaces

• Define and execute the migration strategy from on-premise SYSPRO to AWS

• Ensure data integrity, transactional consistency, and minimal business disruption during migration

• Migrate all SYSPRO customizations, forms, reports, and extensions

AWS Cloud Engineering

• Design and implement AWS architecture for SYSPRO, including:

  • EC2 sizing and scaling

  • Storage (EBS, snapshots, backups)

  • Networking (VPCs, subnets, security groups)

• Implement high availability, backup, and disaster recovery strategies

• Ensure system performance meets or exceeds on-premise benchmarks

Database Management

• Lead migration of SYSPRO databases (SQL Server and/or Oracle) to AWS

• Perform database tuning, indexing, and maintenance optimization

• Validate performance for batch jobs, MRP runs, and month-end/high-volume transactions

Security, Compliance & Integrations

• Design and enforce secure access controls and role-based permissions

• Apply least-privilege principles across application and database layers

• Secure data at rest and in transit

• Support audit and compliance requirements (SOX, FDA, ISO, or customer-specific controls)

• Inventory and migrate all SYSPRO integrations (MES, WMS, PLM, Finance, BI, EDI)

• Coordinate endpoints, credentials, certificates, and connectivity

• Ensure seamless integration performance post-migration

Post-Migration Stabilization

• Lead post-migration validation and stabilization activities

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance or integration issues

• Create documentation, runbooks, and operational handover materials

• Support transition to internal IT or managed support teams

Skills Required

Experience

• 10+ years of ERP technical experience

• 4–5+ years of hands-on SYSPRO technical experience (strongly preferred)

• Proven experience leading on-premise to cloud ERP migrations

• Experience operating independently on complex, business-critical systems

Technical Skills

• Deep knowledge of SYSPRO application architecture

• Strong AWS experience, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and backup/recovery

• SQL Server and/or Oracle administration

• Performance tuning and large-data ERP migrations

• Understanding of ERP security, roles, and authorization models

Nice to Have

• Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments using SYSPRO

• Exposure to MES, WMS, EDI, or BI integrations

• Familiarity with compliance-driven ERP environments

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect preferred)

• Highly self-managed and comfortable working independently

• Clear communication with strong documentation discipline

• Ability to work effectively with IT leadership, business users, and vendors

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
