U2XD49 : Application Database Administrator RDBMS

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Application Database Administrator – RDBMS with deep expertise in IMS DB management. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in database design, optimization, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. Knowledge of database utilities such as DBDGEN, PSBGEN, ACBGEN, and IMS reorganization tools is essential. The role involves maintaining high availability, supporting recovery activities, and ensuring database performance and space optimization.

Responsibility

• Design and create databases using utilities like DBDGEN, PSBGEN, and ACBGEN.
  

• Execute IMS reorganization utilities (Unload, Reload, Pointer Checker, Image Copy) using IBM, BMC, or CA tools.
  

• Monitor database space to prevent outages proactively.
  

• Identify and resolve database performance issues.
  

• Support both planned and unplanned database recovery activities, including the use of DBRC and IMS DB recovery utilities.
  

• Install, configure, and maintain database environments for high availability.
  

• Implement disaster recovery strategies and performance tuning best practices.
  

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in database administration.
  

• Expertise in IMS DB management, including database design and utilities.
  

• Experience with IMS reorganization tools (Unload, Reload, Pointer Checker, Image Copy).
  

• Proficiency in database space monitoring and performance optimization.
  

• Experience supporting disaster recovery and emergency recovery operations.
  

• Knowledge of DBRC and IMS DB recovery utilities.
  

• Strong understanding of database concepts, system administration, and programming.
  

• Ability to ensure database reliability, performance, and scalability.
