Job Description - Active Directory Administrator- L Support

The role of an Active Directory Administrator is critical for maintaining the security and efficiency of a company’s IT infrastructure. Organizations depend on these professionals to ensure that the backbone of their network access and identity management systems are robust, secure, and seamlessly integrated with their overall IT environment.

Job Title : Active Directory, Backup for MDM and patch Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of Active Directory (AD) Infrastructure: Oversee the AD infrastructure across the organization to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. This includes the management of user accounts, groups, organizational units (OUs), and domain controllers.

2. Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security policies and practices to protect AD resources. This may involve configuring group policies, managing access controls, and auditing changes to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

3. Disaster Recovery and Backup: Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies for AD. This includes regular backups of AD data and the ability to restore AD services in case of failure or data loss.

4. Directory Services Integration: Integrate AD services with other directory services (such as LDAP) and applications within the organization for seamless user access and authentication.

5. Patch Management and Updates: Regularly apply patches and updates to the AD infrastructure to ensure security vulnerabilities are addressed and the system is running the latest software versions.

6. Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor the AD environment using various tools to ensure high performance and availability. Address any issues that arise, such as replication problems or performance bottlenecks.

7. User Support and Training: Provide support to end-users facing issues with AD services. This may also involve training users on new systems or policies related to AD.

8. Project Management: Participate in or lead existing and new projects, upgrade, integration, or expansion of the AD infrastructure.

Requirements:

- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is often required.

- Experience: Several years of experience in managing Active Directory in a medium to large enterprise environment.

- Certifications: Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate or other related certifications are highly desirable.

- Skills: Strong understanding of AD architecture and principles, DNS, DHCP, and group policy management. Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.

- Others: Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and occasionally external stakeholders. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
