BI Developer

Primarily responsible for providing reports and dashboard solutions using Microsoft SSRS

and Power BI on SQL Server and Oracle Database.

• Will be responsible for designing backend solutions to map the online data in reporting

tables at different granularity levels.

• Support the Integration layer of the organization connecting disparate systems using

Microsoft SSIS. This work is performed along with DevOps team that owns this layer.

• Follow waterfall and Agile methodology while performing various development activities

such as requirements gathering, analysis & solution design, program

development/coding, unit and integrated testing, user training and documentation.

• Interact with business departments to gather user requirements and understand business

processes involved.

• Review/Analyze requirements documentation with Team Lead/Functional Consultants to

finalize requirements, determine business case and finalize scope of work.

• Perform in-depth analysis to determine the impact on existing business processes and

software applications.

• Design & develop software solutions to meet the business requirements and

specifications.

• Work on remote systems and services and ensure timely deliverables.

• Develop software programs using languages (SQL/PL-SQL/T-SQL) and Reporting tools

(Power BI, SSRS) as per the program specifications and ensure compliance with

organization’s policies & standard practices.

BI Developer

• Develop Data Model/ETL Programs for data-warehouse systems used by analytical tools

such as Business Objects & Tableau

• Perform Unit/Integrated testing to ensure that software programs/modules meet the

desired objectives and quality.

• Prepare detailed documentation covering all areas of software development cycle

involving requirements, analysis & design, program development, & testing.

Documentation is important for maintaining the team knowledge base, actively

contributing to keep all official documents updated.

• Develop appropriate training programs and user guides to assist business departments in

adopting new or enhanced software programs/modules.

• Maintain/update Project management plans for regular progress reviews with team lead

and application manager.

• Ensure service requests are resolved on time and users are appropriately kept informed

about the progress.

• Ensure skill sets are updated based on technological demands.

• This position will be on Support and Project work. Business support is an ongoing

objective. Projects are taken up as per Technology and Business needs and you will be

involved for work in your stream.

BI Developer

This is a hardcore developer role in Business Intelligence stream of IT. Role will focus on

understanding business needs and creating needful reports and dashboards in the approved

tools.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Timely development and deployment of reports and dashboards as committed to

business.

• Timely resolution of support calls.

• Work with lead/manager and department head to create a robust analytics private

cloud for the organization.

• Work on assigned projects and delivery as per timelines.

• Ensure quality of work and avoid error iteration and gaps in provide solution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in any stream. Preference given to Technology related

stream.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in BI software development.

• ITIL certification preferred.

• Industry certifications for Technology (Oracle, Microsoft, Tableau) preferred.

• The applicant should be an expert on below technologies –

o SSRS and SSIS

o Power BI

o SQL

o PL/SQL

o T-SQL

o Data Warehouse technology

o ETL technology

• Working knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects is preferred.

• Capabilities in Python programming preferred.

• Good team player & ability to work independently to meet project timelines.

• Perform any other related administrative duties as assigned by the management from

time to time.

• Candidate should be up to pace with industry advances in BI field. Should be capable of

demonstrating creative talent by providing optimal solutions.

• Analytical mind to understand the trends and improvise on situation.

• Should be extremely organized and structured in office work.

• Excellent communication skills. English is the official language.

• Candidate must have work experience in Office 365 collaboration and communication

cloud.
