Job Description - Information Technology Operations Lead

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Lead with a proven track record in overseeing internal IT server management, backup solutions, storage infrastructure, and cloud platforms (specifically AWS), Active Directory, Firewall and Vendor management. The ideal candidate will also possess expertise in managing Office 365 environments and leading effective technical support teams. This role requires a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and a hands-on professional with at least 7 years of experience in IT operations.

Responsibilities:

  • IT Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Internal IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.

Manage server configurations, updates, and troubleshooting to meet business requirements.

  • Backup and Recovery:

Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data.

Develop and test backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures.

  • Office 365 Administration:

Oversee the administration and support of Office 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.

Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration and user support for Office 365 applications.

  • Security and Compliance:

Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain security best practices across server, storage, and cloud environments.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in IT operations.

  • Vendor Management

Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, including software vendors, hardware suppliers, cloud service providers, and managed service providers.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, procurement, legal, and finance, to define requirements, evaluate vendor proposals, and negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).

Manage vendor contracts, including renewals, amendments, and terminations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Active Directory

Manage and maintain the company's Active Directory infrastructure, including domain controllers, forests, domains, and trusts, to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

Design, implement, and manage AD group policies, organizational units (OUs), and user and group objects to enforce security policies and access controls.

In-depth knowledge of Active Directory architecture, design, and administration, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and LDAP.

Experience with identity and access management (IAM) technologies, such as Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), and SAML.

  • Internal IT Firewall and VPN management

Design, implement, and manage the company's firewall infrastructure, including perimeter firewalls, internal firewalls, and web application firewalls (WAFs), to ensure the security and integrity of our internal IT network environment.

Develop and maintain firewall policies, rulesets, and access control lists (ACLs) to enforce security policies and regulatory compliance requirements.

Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on server, backup, storage, cloud (AWS), Active Directory, IAM, Firewall and tech support management.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing Internal IT infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall platforms such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, or Fortinet.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of AD services and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching, as well as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience in Office 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing technical support teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or others are preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
